3 Ways to Attract Your Ideal Client on Instagram

bio content engagement stories Oct 27, 2025

You don’t need thousands of followers to make Instagram work for your business.

You just need the right people seeing the right content.

That’s why today I want to share three simple ways to start attracting your ideal client on Instagram—the people who get what you’re about, need what you offer, and are actually ready to buy.

Because let’s be honest, we’ve all had enough of random likes from bots, or that one person who follows then unfollows 30 minutes later. You’re not here to play games. You’re here to grow a business.

Let’s dive in.

  1. Optimise your bio to show up in search

Your Instagram bio is like your shop sign—it needs to be clear, useful and keyword-friendly.

Instagram now works a bit like a search engine, so using the right words in your name and bio can help you pop up when people are searching for what you offer.

Let’s say you’re a wedding photographer in the Midlands. Instead of your name only, try:
"Estelle | Midlands Wedding Photographer"

This way, when someone types “wedding photographer Midlands” into the search bar, you’ve got a better chance of showing up.

Then, make sure your actual bio explains:

  • Who you help
  • What you help them with
  • And why you’re the one to follow

Quick example:
Helping creative couples capture real, relaxed moments. 10+ years’ experience. Based in Leicester, available nationwide.

Simple. Effective. Search-friendly.

And if you want a full breakdown of how to write a killer bio that attracts your ideal client—there’s a full training inside the Members Area waiting for you.

  1. Speak to their pain points (and offer the solution)

Here’s a little mindset shift that changes everything

Your Instagram content isn’t about you—it’s about them.

Your ideal client isn’t scrolling thinking “ooh, I’d love to follow a business account today.” They’re thinking:
“How do I fix this problem?”
“Why does this keep happening?”
“Can someone just help me figure this out?!”

So think about your ideal client’s pain points. What are they struggling with? What’s keeping them stuck?

Then create content that:

  • Shows you understand their struggle
  • Offers useful advice, tips or reassurance
  • Highlights how your product/service solves that issue

For example: 👉 If you’re a coach: talk about overwhelm and lack of confidence, and how you help people move past it
👉 If you sell handmade products: highlight the stress of finding meaningful gifts, and how your product brings joy and uniqueness

When people see themselves in your content, they’re way more likely to stick around—and take action.

  1. Show the face (and the why) behind the brand

People connect with people. That’s why showing your face and sharing your story is one of the most powerful things you can do on Instagram.

Why did you start your business?
What do you believe in?
What makes you different?

When your audience sees the real human behind the brand, and understands your values, they’re more likely to trust you—and buy from you.

And here’s the magic: people who share your values will naturally gravitate towards you. They’ll feel aligned with your energy, your mission, and the way you show up.

So don’t be afraid to tell your story. Share that selfie. Talk about the challenges you’ve faced. Let your personality shine through your captions.

Your ideal clients aren’t looking for perfect. They’re looking for real.
